v8865_m - Date of deletion required when the row contains any other data (B_01.02)

Official expression (EBA, verbatim)

with {tB_01.02, default: null, interval: false}: if ( not ( isnull ({c0030}) ) ) or not (( isnull ({c0040}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0050}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0060}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0070}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0080}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0020}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0100}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0110}) )) then ( ( not ( isnull ({c0090}) ) )) endif

Precondition (verbatim): {v_B_01.02} - the rule is evaluated only when template B_01.02 is part of the filing (its filing indicator is true).

Description in the EBA artifact: empty (NULL).

What this rule checks

Template B_01.02 (List of entities within the scope of the register of information) has one row per entity within the scope of the Register of Information (RoI). The row key is c0010 (LEI of the entity).

The rule looks at each row: if at least one of the data columns c0020-c0080 and c0100-c0110 is filled - Name of the entity (c0020), Country (c0030), Type of entity (c0040), Hierarchy of the entity within the group (c0050), LEI of the direct parent undertaking (c0060), Date of last update (c0070), Date of integration (c0080), Currency (c0100), Value of total assets (c0110) - then c0090 (Date of deletion in the Register of information) must be filled as well. A row that contains only the key c0010 does not trigger the rule.

The requirement can be surprising: an entity that is still in the register has no deletion date, yet the published expression requires c0090 in every row that contains any other data - the check runs exactly as published. The EBA FAQ (28 March 2025) contains no filling convention for c0090 of B_01.02 (measured: the FAQ entries about a column '0090' concern templates B_06.01, B_05.01 and B_02.02). With c0090 empty, the warning simply remains in the validation feedback. This rule checks only that the cell is filled. The date format itself (yyyy-mm-dd) is a separate, format-level check, and the rule does not compare the date with anything.

This is a warning-level check (layer W2, severity: warning). It does not technically block or reject a filing at the ESAs - a technical rejection can only be caused by the structural file checks (STRUCT layer). A violation shows up as a warning in the validation feedback. The rule is active on the current EBA validation rules list (status as of 2026-06-23).

Most common causes

  • The entity is still in the register, so there is no deletion date to enter - the published expression still requires a value in every otherwise-filled row.
  • The entity did leave the register scope, but the deletion date was never entered in c0090.
  • A column shift in a CSV or Excel export left c0090 empty and moved values into neighbouring columns.

How to fix it, step by step

  1. Open template B_01.02 and find the flagged row. The finding gives the row number and the key value: c0010 (LEI of the entity).
  2. If the entity has left the scope of the register, enter its deletion date in column c0090 (Date of deletion in the Register of information) in the yyyy-mm-dd format, for example 2026-11-30.
  3. If the entity is still in the register, there is no deletion date to enter and the EBA FAQ (28 March 2025) provides no convention for this cell - with c0090 empty, this warning remains in the validation feedback.
  4. If the whole row is there by mistake, delete the entire row instead. A row with only the key (c0010) does not trigger this rule.
  5. Run the validation again and confirm the v8865_m warning for that row is gone.

Example: fails vs passes

Fails - the value of total assets is filled, the date of deletion is empty; the finding points at column c0090 of this row:

c0010 (LEI of the entity) c0090 (Date of deletion in the Register of information) c0110 (Value of total assets - of the financial entity)
549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 (empty) 78134

Passes - the date of deletion is filled:

c0010 (LEI of the entity) c0090 (Date of deletion in the Register of information) c0110 (Value of total assets - of the financial entity)
549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 2026-11-30 78134

Also passes (edge case) - a key-only row: only c0010 is filled, none of c0020-c0080 and c0100-c0110 has a value, so the condition never activates. With several rows, only the incomplete row is flagged - the finding carries its row number and key value.

  • v8858_m, v8859_m, v8860_m, v8861_m, v8862_m, v8863_m, v8864_m - the same row-completeness family on B_01.02: each rule requires a different column of the same row (c0020 Name of the entity, c0030 Country of the entity, c0040 Type of entity, c0050 Hierarchy of the entity within the group, c0060 LEI of the direct parent undertaking, c0070 Date of last update, c0080 Date of integration).
  • v8804_m and v8803_m - the two data columns this family never requires directly (c0110 Value of total assets, c0100 Currency) are covered by conditional rules: v8804_m requires c0110 for entities other than the two non-financial types, and v8803_m requires c0100 whenever c0110 is filled.

Fix it in the RoI Builder - it points at the exact row and cell and re-checks as you type.
