Official control text (EBA, verbatim)
Boolean type metric must be reported with a boolean value (true/false/1/0)
Source: EBA technical check 332 (sheet "DPM Technical Checks", category "DPM Technical Checks" in the official overview of the RoI technical checks). The RoI Builder runs it as structural check STRUCT-BOOLEAN-FORMAT.
What this rule checks
The check covers every boolean-typed column of the register. Measured in eba-4.0-errata5, these are exactly the three Link columns: c0030 (Link) in B_02.03 (List of intra-group contractual arrangements), c0030 (Link) in B_03.01 and c0031 (Link) in B_03.03 - the c0031 code is verbatim from the taxonomy. The column selection is metadata-driven (data type boolean), not a hardcoded list.
A non-empty cell in these columns must be a canonical boolean literal. The EBA control text allows the spellings true/false/1/0 on the wire; in the RoI Builder the canonical cell value is lowercase true or false - the 1/0 spellings are rejected at import, so inside the register they never appear. An empty cell is not a violation of this check; emptiness of key columns is a different check (STRUCT-MANDATORY).
On the same three columns a second, stricter check runs: STRUCT-TRUE-VALUE (EBA check 333) allows only the value true in a filled cell. Both checks fire independently - a mistyped value such as yes raises both findings, mirroring the EBA running 332 and 333 as separate checks. The measured type census of DORA 4.0 errata 5 has no other boolean columns, so in practice this check concerns only the Link columns.
This is a structural check (STRUCT layer, severity: blocking). If it fails, the package is technically rejected on receipt (feedbackMain = REJECTED). The structural layer is the only layer that blocks a filing.
Most common causes
- The cell was typed by hand as yes, no, Y, TRUE or FALSE instead of the canonical lowercase true/false.
- An Excel boolean column exported its values as uppercase TRUE/FALSE.
- A column shift in a copied sheet moved a text value into the Link column.
How to fix it, step by step
- Open the flagged template (B_02.03, B_03.01 or B_03.03) and find the row - the finding gives the row number and the key values.
- Look at the flagged Link cell (c0030 or c0031); the finding shows the offending value.
- Enter true (lowercase) if the link applies, or leave the cell empty. Note: false passes this format check but is then flagged by STRUCT-TRUE-VALUE.
- Run the validation again and confirm the finding is gone.
Example: fails vs passes
Fails - the Link cell holds yes instead of a boolean literal; the finding points at column c0030 of this B_02.03 row:
| c0010 (Contractual arrangement reference number) | c0020 (Contractual arrangement linked to the contractual arrangement referred in RT.02.03.0010) | c0030 (Link) |
|---|---|---|
| CTR-1 | CTR-2 | yes |
Passes - the canonical literal:
| c0010 | c0020 | c0030 (Link) |
|---|---|---|
| CTR-1 | CTR-2 | true |
Also passes (edge case) - an empty c0030 cell: this format check skips empty cells.
Related rules
- STRUCT-TRUE-VALUE - the value constraint on the same three Link columns: a filled cell may only be true; both checks run independently.
- STRUCT-DATE-FORMAT, STRUCT-INTEGER-FORMAT, STRUCT-DECIMAL-FORMAT - the same per-cell type-format family of the structural layer on other column types.
- STRUCT-MANDATORY - emptiness of key columns; this format check never fires on an empty cell.
Fix it in the RoI Builder - it points at the exact row and cell and re-checks as you type.
