STRUCT-INTEGER-FORMAT - Integer columns must hold whole numbers (B_02.02, B_05.02, B_06.01)

An integer-typed cell is not a whole number: fractions, text or number formatting are not allowed in the 5 integer columns.

Control 305:

Numeric fact must not be reported with a string value

Control 331:

Integer type metric must be reported with an integer

Source: EBA technical checks 305 and 331 (sheet "DPM Technical Checks" in the official overview of the RoI technical checks). The RoI Builder runs them together as structural check STRUCT-INTEGER-FORMAT.

What this rule checks

The check covers every integer-typed column. Measured in eba-4.0-errata5, these are 5 columns: c0100 (Notice period for the financial entity making use of the ICT service(s)) and c0110 (Notice period for the ICT third-party service provider) in B_02.02; c0080 (Recovery time objective of the function) and c0090 (Recovery point objective of the function) in B_06.01; and the natural-key column c0050 (Rank) in B_05.02. Selection is metadata-driven via the column data type, not a hardcoded list.

Every non-empty cell of these columns must be a canonical invariant integer - a fractional value, text or number formatting (grouping separators, units) is one blocking finding per cell. An empty cell is null and is skipped here; emptiness of the key column c0050 (Rank) in B_05.02 is a separate blocking check (STRUCT-MANDATORY).

Layer boundary: the sign of a number is not this check's business - greater-or-equal-zero constraints live in W2 as warnings (e.g. v22913_s and v23716_s on the monetary columns). This structural check covers EBA check 331 and the integer branch of EBA check 305; the decimal branch is STRUCT-DECIMAL-FORMAT.

This is a structural check (STRUCT layer, severity: blocking). If it fails, the package is technically rejected on receipt (feedbackMain = REJECTED). The structural layer is the only layer that blocks a filing.

Most common causes

  • A unit written into the cell, e.g. "30 days" instead of 30.
  • A fractional value like 3.5 entered where only whole numbers are allowed.
  • A thousands separator or a space inside the number, e.g. 1,000 or 1 000.

How to fix it, step by step

  1. Open the flagged template (B_02.02, B_05.02 or B_06.01) and find the row - the finding gives the row number, the key values and the offending value.
  2. Rewrite the flagged cell as a plain whole number: digits only, no separators, no units, no decimal part.
  3. If the cell mixed a number with a unit (e.g. "30 days"), keep only the number.
  4. Run the validation again and confirm the finding is gone.

Example: fails vs passes

Fails - a fraction in an integer column; the finding points at column c0080 of this B_06.01 row:

c0010 (Function Identifier) c0040 (LEI of the financial entity) c0080 (Recovery time objective of the function)
FUNC-1 549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 3.5

Passes - a whole number:

c0010 (Function Identifier) c0040 (LEI of the financial entity) c0080 (Recovery time objective of the function)
FUNC-1 549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 4

Also passes (edge case) - an empty c0080 cell: this format check skips empty cells.

  • STRUCT-DECIMAL-FORMAT - the decimal branch of the same EBA check 305, on the three monetary columns.
  • v22913_s, v23716_s - the W2 sign rules (value greater than or equal to zero) on monetary columns; the sign is a warning, the numeric format is structural.
  • STRUCT-MANDATORY - emptiness of the key column c0050 (Rank) in B_05.02 is reported there; a filled Rank must be a whole number here.

Fix it in the RoI Builder - it points at the exact row and cell and re-checks as you type.
