v8850_m - Type of provider ID code required when the row contains any other data (B_05.01)

Official expression (EBA, verbatim)
with {tB_05.01, default: null, interval: false}: if ( not ( isnull ({c0030}) ) ) or not (( isnull ({c0040}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0050}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0060}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0070}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0080}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0090}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0100}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0110}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0120}) )) then ( ( not ( isnull ({c0020}) ) )) endif
Precondition (verbatim): {v_B_05.01} - the rule is evaluated only when template B_05.01 is part of the filing (its filing indicator is true).
Description in the EBA artifact: empty (NULL).
What this rule checks
Template B_05.01 (ICT third-party service providers) has one row per ICT third-party service provider. The row key is c0010 (Identification code of ICT third-party service provider).
The rule looks at each row: if at least one of the data columns c0030-c0120 is filled - Additional identification code (c0030), Type of additional code (c0040), Legal name (c0050), Name in latin alphabet (c0060), Type of person (c0070), Country (c0080), Currency (c0090), Total annual expense (c0100), Ultimate parent id code (c0110), Type of code of ultimate parent (c0120) - then c0020 (Type of code to identify the ICT third-party service provider) must be filled as well. A row that contains only the key c0010 does not trigger the rule.
c0020 takes one code from the LISTIDTYPE dictionary: eba_qCO:qx2000 (LEI), eba_qCO:qx2001 (National code), eba_qCO:qx2002 (EUID), eba_qCO:qx2003 (CRN), eba_qCO:qx2004 (VAT), eba_qCO:qx2005 (Passport).
This is a warning-level check (layer W2, severity: warning). It does not technically block or reject a filing at the ESAs - a technical rejection can only be caused by the structural file checks (STRUCT layer). A violation shows up as a warning in the validation feedback. The rule is active on the current EBA validation rules list (status as of 2026-06-23).
Most common causes
- The provider row was filled in starting from the legal name or country and the code-type cell (c0020) was left empty.
- The identification code was entered in c0010, but its type was never picked from the LISTIDTYPE dictionary.
- A column shift in a CSV or Excel export left c0020 empty and moved values into neighbouring columns.
How to fix it, step by step
- Open template B_05.01 and find the flagged row. The finding gives the row number and the key value: c0010 (Identification code of ICT third-party service provider).
- In column c0020 pick the dictionary code that matches the identifier used in c0010: eba_qCO:qx2000 for an LEI, eba_qCO:qx2001 for a national code, eba_qCO:qx2002 for an EUID, eba_qCO:qx2003 for a CRN, eba_qCO:qx2004 for a VAT number, eba_qCO:qx2005 for a passport number.
- If the whole row is there by mistake, delete the entire row instead. A row with only the key (c0010) does not trigger this rule.
- Run the validation again and confirm the v8850_m warning for that row is gone.
Example: fails vs passes
Fails - the legal name is filled, the type of code is empty; the finding points at column c0020 of this row:
| c0010 (Identification code of ICT third-party service provider) | c0020 (Type of code to identify the ICT third-party service provider) | c0050 (Legal name of the ICT third-party service provider) |
|---|---|---|
| 549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 | (empty) | Cloudex SARL |
Passes - the type of code is filled and matches the identifier (an LEI):
| c0010 (Identification code of ICT third-party service provider) | c0020 (Type of code to identify the ICT third-party service provider) | c0050 (Legal name of the ICT third-party service provider) |
|---|---|---|
| 549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 | eba_qCO:qx2000 | Cloudex SARL |
Also passes (edge case) - a key-only row: only c0010 is filled, none of c0030-c0120 has a value, so the condition never activates.
Related rules
- v8851_m to v8855_m - the same row-completeness family on B_05.01: each rule requires a different column of the same provider row.
- e23674_e - existence rule on B_05.01: six core provider columns, including c0020, must be filled in every row (inactive on the current EBA list).
- v8817_m - when the provider is a legal person, c0020 must be eba_qCO:qx2000 (LEI) or eba_qCO:qx2002 (EUID) (inactive on the current EBA list).
- v8823_m - coupled pair on the same template: an additional identification code (c0030) requires its type (c0040) (inactive on the current EBA list).
Fix it in the RoI Builder - it points at the exact row and cell and re-checks as you type.
