v8883_m - Impact of discontinuing the function required when the row contains other data (B_06.01)

Official expression (EBA, verbatim)
with {tB_06.01, default: null, interval: false}: if ( not ( isnull ({c0030}) ) ) or not (( isnull ({c0050}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0060}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0070}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0080}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0020}) )) or not (( isnull ({c0020}) )) then ( ( not ( isnull ({c0100}) ) )) endif
Precondition (verbatim): {v_B_06.01} - the rule is evaluated only when template B_06.01 is part of the filing (its filing indicator is true).
Description in the EBA artifact: empty (NULL).
Note on the official expression: the EBA artifact publishes this expression with a duplicated {c0020} term in the antecedent and without {c0090} (Recovery point objective of the function) in it. The page documents the expression exactly as published; the check runs exactly as published.
What this rule checks
Template B_06.01 (Functions identification) has one row per function of a financial entity. The row key has two parts: c0010 (Function Identifier) and c0040 (LEI of the financial entity).
The rule looks at each row: if at least one of the columns listed in the published expression is filled - Function name (c0030), Criticality assessment (c0050), Reasons for criticality (c0060), Date of last assessment (c0070), Recovery time objective (c0080) or Licenced activity (c0020) - then c0100 (Impact of discontinuing the function) must be filled as well. A row that contains only the key columns does not trigger the rule.
Because the published antecedent omits c0090, a row in which only c0090 (Recovery point objective of the function) is filled does not trigger this rule. The sister rule v8882_m, which guards c0090, does include c0100 in its antecedent - the asymmetry exists only in v8883_m.
c0100 takes one dictionary code: eba_ZZ:x791 (Low), eba_ZZ:x792 (Medium), eba_ZZ:x793 (High), eba_ZZ:x799 (Assessment not performed).
This is a warning-level check (layer W2, severity: warning). It does not technically block or reject a filing at the ESAs - a technical rejection can only be caused by the structural file checks (STRUCT layer). A violation shows up as a warning in the validation feedback. The rule is active on the current EBA validation rules list (status as of 2026-06-23).
Most common causes
- The function was described (name, criticality) and the impact-of-discontinuing cell (c0100) was left empty.
- The assessment columns were filled in later and c0100 was skipped.
- A column shift in a CSV or Excel export left c0100 empty and moved values into neighbouring columns.
How to fix it, step by step
- Open template B_06.01 and find the flagged row. The finding gives the row number and the two-part key: c0010 (Function Identifier) and c0040 (LEI of the financial entity).
- In column c0100 pick one dictionary code: eba_ZZ:x791 (Low), eba_ZZ:x792 (Medium), eba_ZZ:x793 (High) or eba_ZZ:x799 (Assessment not performed).
- If the whole row is there by mistake, delete the entire row instead. A row with only the key columns does not trigger this rule.
- Run the validation again and confirm the v8883_m warning for that row is gone.
Example: fails vs passes
Fails - the function name is filled, the impact of discontinuing is empty; the finding points at column c0100 of this row:
| c0010 (Function Identifier) | c0040 (LEI of the financial entity) | c0030 (Function name) | c0100 (Impact of discontinuing the function) |
|---|---|---|---|
| F-001 | 549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 | Rozliczenia platnosci | (empty) |
Passes - the impact is filled:
| c0010 (Function Identifier) | c0040 (LEI of the financial entity) | c0030 (Function name) | c0100 (Impact of discontinuing the function) |
|---|---|---|---|
| F-001 | 549300Q5EH2NP82EPE32 | Rozliczenia platnosci | eba_ZZ:x793 |
Also passes (edge case, a consequence of the published expression) - a row in which, besides the key, only c0090 (Recovery point objective of the function) is filled: the published antecedent does not contain c0090, so the rule does not fire even though c0100 is empty.
Related rules
- v8877_m to v8882_m - the same row-completeness family on B_06.01: each rule requires a different column of the same row; v8882_m guards c0090 and, unlike this rule, includes c0100 in its antecedent.
- e23682_e - existence rule on B_06.01 (inactive on the current EBA list).
- v8897_m - LEI format rule of the v8890_m-v8897_m key family on B_06.01 (inactive on the current EBA list).
Fix it in the RoI Builder - it points at the exact row and cell and re-checks as you type.
